"a portrait of, and occasionally a quote from my children, once a week, every week, in 2017"

Jackson: Two more exams on Wednesday this week and he is officially through with Grade 8!!! He got in some good prep for summertime fun with a load of time on the lake today! Life is good for my boy!

Lily: This little lady has been full of all kinds of emotions this past month. She is really struggling to think of the end of Grade 6 and the move into her last year at Elementary in the fall. She wonders if she should still play with her dolls and toys or will others make fun of her. She worries about what she is reading and what clothes she wears. In my opinion, too much struggle for such a young mostly happy spirit to have. I continue to gently encourage her to move at her own pace and be her own person. She is usually pretty good with it but has really started to get anxious about growing up. I will admit to sitting and crying with her a few times now. Growing up and getting older is just has hard on us I think as it is for them.

  1. The lake looks like so much fun and I sympathise with your daughter. Bless her, it's a hard age of transition. Eager to be seen as mature and grown up but enjoying childhood fun. #livingarrows

  2. Oh poor Lily. Far too many worries for such a lovely little thing. Play with dolls, read what she likes, wear what she likes - the time will naturally come when she changes the things she does but for now she shouldn't worry what anyone else thinks x
