These two

These little women are two peas in a pod. The chatter didn't stop from pick up to bedtime and then again right up to drop off back home this morning. I'm so glad Lily has such a loving friend in her life regardless of how often they see one another.
I look forward to seeing their friendship grow long into the future.

a beautiful evening with Lily & Claire

their reaction when the ok was given about a sleepover

Once again, after a long time in between our last visit, Lily and Claire reunite and it's like they saw one another yesterday. They really are two peas in a pod. From pick up to drop off, their mouths hardly stop moving. I've talked about their friendship before here. This evening is extra special as it's their first sleepover just the two of them and they are both so excited. We picked up slurpees and a candy bag afterschool and since we've arrived home they've played Lala's, Lego, made cards and been down to the beach twice. While stargazing this evening, Lily says "it's like someone puked up a bunch of sparkles" which sent Claire into a fit of laughter. They are quite the pair and I'm so happy they continue to love each other even though the visits aren't as often as they should be! It's almost 10:30 and they are still up watching a movie. Pj's are on and teeth are brushed but they just want more time. Bedtime soon sweet girlfriends.

bits from our weekend

Friday
We picked up Claire afterschool, had Starbucks, went to
a Hallowe'en carnival then came back to our place for some play.
As always, the two got along famously and didn't want the party to end!

Saturday
Honestly, I woke up Saturday feeling pretty rough. UTI strikes again! TMI? Sorry! Fortunately there wasn't anything going on until later in the afternoon so I was able to stay home for a good portion of the day and rest. I took Lily to a friends place around 3 and went for a walk with my sister then picked up Lily and headed little Payton's birthday.  After that party, Neil and my friends got together to throw an early little 40th birthday party for me. Believe it or not, soon after everyone arrived there was an earthquake which made us all a little unnerved! After the shock (and calming Brenna down ☺), we ate well (what else is new), laughed and had a very nice evening even though I don't want 40 to come! I felt lousy but grateful to be surrounded by love and to be home and in bed before midnight!

we listened to some Duran Duran in honour of Simon LeBon's birthday

Happy early 40th to me (sad face/happy face)

Sunday
Feeling a bit better but certainly not great.
The kids enjoyed putting together one of my presents. Thank you Lise, it's pretty sweet!

We carved pumpkins in the kitchen while watching ET on the computer.
My favourtie thing!!! After the first cut, Lily quoted Linus from Charlie Brown
"you didn't tell me you were going to kill it!"

40 hits in two days. I'm still not dealing with it too well. Lots of tears this weekend. I know it's so silly but it really is bugging me. I have to turn my thinking around and fast! Any suggestions?!?!?!

Day 2 of Camping - Lily and Claire reunited

It's been awhile since Lily and Claire had a day together. They met in preschool just before they
turned 3 (Claire late November and Lily early December) and hit it off.
As they are in different schools now and we live so far apart the
girls don't see one another as often although it never seems to matter. They always
pick up where they left off and play hard the entire time they are together. Their love
for each other is obvious and I think it's a friendship that will last forever. On this day, they
biked everywhere, chatted up a storm, painted, laughed, were nice to Oscker ☺, fed the squirrels,  swam a little, ate goldfish together, created "Stocking Lake", called themselves
"Lily and Claire the Greats" and really just had the best day.
We picked up Claire around 11am and she left for home at 8:45 dirty and exhausted but happy.
We look forward to your next visit Claire! xoxoxoxo
