#SAMESPOT - December and a recap

Another year of #SAMESPOT complete. As I say again and again on this space, time flies. I can hardly believe we are at the end of December. There's been a lot of ups and downs this year, mostly good (like buying a house!!!seriously still feel like I need to pinch myself every.single.day) but some sadness over the loss of some very special friends (missing you Auntie B and Mike). The weather has mostly been amazing. Summer seemed to start in April and carried on until October as my SAMESPOT photos reflect. We have yet to see any white stuff although we are hopeful we will get some this week. The temps have been dropping so fingers crossed . We really are blessed and happy. We live a good life and don't have anything to complain about. SAMESPOT will continue but move again in 2016 to a place closer to home. See you for more then.

#SAMESPOT - OCTOBER

Somehow my #Samespot for October got left in drafts. I believe it's because the month ended with a horrible kidney infection for me but also, maybe, it's because life is just too busy. Oh well, here it is.

#SAMESPOT - November

I don't really know what to say that I haven't said in previous months. Time is racing. I can't even believe November is done. We had loads of amazing, cold but beautiful days with a few crazy storms thrown in for good measure. Lily completed her first big project for grade 5 and Jackson was a wonderful MC at the school's Remembrance Day Ceremony. We had our first houseguests come visit our new home and everyone fit comfortably AND there was no line up for the bathroom. We finished off the month with a quick trip to Vancouver. Really, another great one except for that it just goes by too quickly. We are pretty settled in the new place and are especially loving being able to walk in the door and turn on heat rather than wait and wait and wait for the woodstove to heat us up. Having a furnace is a HUGE luxury in my opinion. The more I see and hear of things that are going on around the globe, the more grateful and lucky I feel. We are blessed and happy. Life is good.

#SAMESPOT - September 2015

As I mentioned in August's #SAMESPOT, September was indeed crazy pants. It was a whirlwind of moving, school/activities starting, mini vacays (two on my own, one with the fam), birthday celebrations, very mixed weather and little sleep. It's all positive just exhausting. I still don't have my desk set up at home, so playing catch up after our crazy month is taking longer than I'd hoped. I'm looking forward to more relaxing times in sweet colourful October.

#SAMESPOT - August 2015

Beautiful, hot, stressful August. Thank goodness for our little getaway to Vancouver and Oregon to give us a much needed break from the chaos of packing. Moving sucks but we have so much to look forward to in our new home. We can't wait to get there and get settled. A few more sleeps and we will be doing just that. September is going to be crazy pants but all good stuff. New beginnings and lots of love. Soon.

#SAMESPOT - July 2015

Really? It's the end of July. As ever, summer is flying at lightning speed. I don't really know what's happened. Too much work and not enough play. We certainly haven't had enough beach days for it to be this far into summer break. We will need to correct that in August. More sunshine, more play, less busy. That's my small request.

#SAMESPOT - June 2015

June was a whirlwind of activity. I feel like this month is equal to December in terms of busy. Our calendar was full of end of year field trips, parties as well as a full load of baseball. Hockey ends and ball begins but I have to say I love to sit in the park and watch in the sunshine. Hockey is certainly faster paced but the cold arena will never be appealing.

This month saw very little rain and lots of fabulous sunny days. The kids know the routine now of brushing teeth and hair and applying sunscreen every morning. Our skin is pretty sunkissed already.

The kids are just getting out of bed as I write this. Soon I will drive them to school for their last days of grades 6 and 4. As ever, I once again feel disbelief that we are finished another school year so quickly. The days are often indeed very long but the years are short. My babies are growing fast.

My hope for July is a much slower pace. I'm working full time the first two weeks to cover someone's holidays. It sucks but I feel like I'll get it over with than have the rest of the summer to work only a few days a week and enjoy family time the rest. Lots of beach days and days of nothing are in our future. Summer baseball continues but that's weekends only. Chees July! We look very forward to you!

#SAMESPOT - May2015

As ever, May has been beautiful - hardly a rain drop fell and the temperature has definetly increased. I worry a bit about so little rain and this much heat this early on, however BC coastal weather is always pretty up and down. As I hoped for last month, the blooms are plentiful. Every single year I feel the same in the month of May - in awe of nature. I can't get over it. The rainbow of colours all over the place have me pulling the car over to take pictures often. I just can't get enough!!! Summer is literally right around the corner. I'm not sure how that happened or even that May is coming to a close already but it is true. What will June bring? We can only hope for more sunshine and happiness please and thanks.

#SAMESPOT - April 2015

April you have been wild mix of everything. Sun, rain, warm, cold, hail even and all often in a single day. We've seen many a rainbow this month and unfortunately continue to have to light the woodstove most nights to try and escape the damp. One day we are in shorts and flips, the next we are back pulling out our jackets and boots. I love the tease of a beautiful day. It immediately brings me to the ease of a summer day with no commitments or worries. I'm sort of already counting the days to no school and lots of time at the beach. Freedom - so nice to know it's on it's way. Looking forward to you May with hopes of more beautiful days and blooms a plenty.

#SAMESPOT - March 2015

The mild temperatures continue as you can see from Lily's attire. Already the flips have come out as have the capri pants. Jackson has worn shorts and hoodies most of the month. March has been good to us.

#SAMESPOT - February 2015

Honestly, February has been a bit rough. Lots of stress and little sleep. I don't like to wish time away ever but I'm feeling kind of happy to see this month come to an end. The weather has been a great mix of grey and rainy with several days of sunshine to help get us through. One thing is for sure, it's been as mild as I can ever remember for this time of year. March brings Spring's fresh promise, daylight savings and a two week break from school - loads of goodness to look forward too!

#SAMESPOT - January 2015

Here we go again. This years #SAMESPOT will take place in one of my fav parks in Sliammon, Nish e Yeok. It's close to home and we go there often. I thought it would be interesting to watch the ever changing tides as well as the skyline every month. The kids are standing between Texada Island, to the left, and Harwood Island on the right. Beyond both and not pictured well because of the cloud cover is Vancouver Island. I love where we live!

Check out last years #SAMESPOTS here. I hope to be more successful with my positioning this year. Fingers crossed! ☺
