I could post and post about these amazing characters. They are such a treat to watch.

Nature Loving: Beach Lions Part 1 - On a Grey Day

 

The California Sea Lions have made a new home in our neighbourhood. They are constantly barking and can be heard all over town. I have seen them around in previous years but never in this amount and never so close. They are littering the beach and the breakwater by the mill and certainly are making their presence known with their loud conversations. There are so many characters involved. I have been down to watch them numerous times and taken hundreds of shots. I cannot get enough. They seem to be the most peaceful sleepers and very affectionate but also can get very angry with one another. I feel so grateful they chose our town to make their home even if it is only temporary. No one knows how long they will stay and they are drawing huge crowds daily. Such a treat. If you are in Powell River, be sure to go and check them out. 

Nature Loving - Where the lions are

The sea lions are really making themselves known here in Powell River right now.  They are very loud and vocal and you can hear them barking all over town, especially near the mill. This song starts buzzing around my thoughts every time I see or hear them.
