Spring Colour

The official start of summer is tomorrow but I still feel like we are waiting patiently for Spring. Thank goodness for bursts of colour to help us get through the extremely long string of gray cold days. I'm so looking forward to some regular blue skies and sunshine. Hopefully summer will bring it although I suppose a rainy day here and there will provide us with more of the endless beauty that is around right now. How I LOVE flowers!!!

"a portrait of, and occasionally a quote from my children, once a week, every week, in 2015"

Jackson: Summer isn't the easiest for him because he loves to be busy and have something on the go. Staying home all day isn't a good option for him. Fortunately he does like to read so at least he can pass some days by escaping to somewhere else without leaving the house. ☺
"I don't love summer. I miss school and my friends."
"Mom, what are we doing after this? What are we doing tomorrow?"

Lily: Pictured here with her fav guy Walter. This photo was taken on his birthday (she remembers the exact day we bought him and insisted we celebrate him with cake and presents). Did you see the Muppet Movie a few years ago. Lily LOVED it and applauded in the movie theatre when Walter finally performed The Whistling Caruso. She stopped and hid under my arm once she realized where she was. I hugged her tight as a few tears fell down my cheeks. I felt overwhelmed that she was so touched and proud of him. She'll make a good Mama. Every night she puts Walter in jammies and tucks him into bed and every morning she gets up and gets him dressed. It's all very sweet like she is. (See more photos of our beach date with Walter below. We are living in sepia tones right now as there are so many wildfires burning around us. The smoke is heavy and intense. Please pray for rain. We need is desperately!)
"So this week I really want to be a vegetarian but I have to say that if I run into some butter chicken, things may change."

Jackson: Crazy hair and attitude this boy. He's pretty full of it lately!

Lily: Sweet, loving and king. I'm so proud of who she is.
Casually singing one moring at breakfast "Nothings gonna get in my way, to this super awesome day."
Random quote in the van on the way home one night "Hey Mom, did you know that Kermit the Frog is 60 years old and that on his 50th birthday, Piggy jumped out of a cake for him!"

They are both crazy and I love them beyond words.

10 on 10 - a Pro D day well spent

I've meant to do this every month for at least a year but this is really and truly the first time I've ever remembered to actually take 10 photos on the 10th of the month! Today the kids had their final Pro D day of the school year and I had the day off so we made the most of the mid-week free time . When I imagined doing this last night, I intended on taking certain photos throughout the day but things never seem to go as planned in my life. It was a lovely day all the same but just not what I thought it would be. Breakfast, some play, the beach, snacks, supper at my parents, some time on the trampoline complete with dishsoap, a movie (San Andreas which the boys LOVED) followed by a lovely sunset. It was friend filled, with lots of great food and finished off with a pretty view - what more could we want for?
