"a portrait of, and occasionally a quote from my children, once a week, every week, in 2015"

Jackson: Spring Hockey is in full swing. Saturday morning I put him on the ferry with another family and off he went. I could go on and on about how I hate him going away without us, how it eats up weekends and how expensive it is but the reality is that he LOVES it and is grateful to play so why complain.  He's a good kid and I believe he understands that playing Spring Hockey for an out of town team is a privledge and he is thrilled to be able to do it. This week we will throw baseball into the mix and life will get even busier for him.

Lily: Lots of ups and downs this week. She went for a sleepover at her BF"s place and made a midnight face-time call to get her through. She did it but I think we will lay off the sleepovers for a little while now. The next day is always a doozy and hard for everyone as Lily gets overtired and cranky. She's desperate to have friends over or see friends on weekends then is very needy and wanting lots of cuddles late into Sunday night as she's missed us so much. This makes for a difficult bedtime. Somehow we will have to find a happy medium. As we were away, then she was busy with friends, I didn't hear the many quotes come from her mouth that I usually do. She did just pass me while I was busy working on this and I commented on how much I like this weeks portrait of her and she said "I look like I shoud be on the movie poster for the Hunger Games or for some powerful thing." Funny as she has certainly never seen the movie or read the books but also because when I saw this picture the word STRONG came to mind.
How I love my beautiful girl!

  3. Sounds like your son's sports are going well.

I love that photo of Lily. She certainly comes across as a strong girl with her own views.

  4. They're both beautiful portraits and yes strong is definitely the word - a force to be reckoned with when she chooses!
